J'adore Festival and Doodle Do present a stroller friendly art-walk in High Park. Come to High Park for a family/stroller friendly nature walk and natural art making, an attempt to make a tribute to the wonderful Andy Goldsworthy. For reference, please check his beautiful website, given below We are meeting for 10am at the group of benches just west of Grenadier Restaurant (look for the Doodle Do flag!) and will walk along the west ravine trail that runs along Grenadier Pond, and then we will stop to make and leave some group art using only found objects that we have collected during the walk. The whole event should take about an hour. Don't forget to bring water, hats, a mat or towel to sit on, umbrellas and sunscreen. Birds, squirrels and chipmunks are everywhere, if you have them bring some binoculars! Please be aware there are swans and Canadian Geese as well as dogs in the park. Some areas have been treated with pesticide but have been clearly marked and are easily avoidable. ***Kids' safety and snacks are wholly the responsibility of their parents or guardians. Children should never be left unattended, this is a family event.*** To get to High Park Visiting on foot or by bicycle: You may use the sidewalks by the main car entrances but there are also many paths leading into the park around the perimeter all around the park By Subway: Get off at High Park station on the Bloor-Danforth subway line between Keele and Runnymede stations. The park's north entrance is a two minute walk from the station. By car: The park is located between Bloor Street and The Queensway and is bordered by Parkside Drive on the east. The main entrance is from Bloor Street - turn south at High Park Avenue. The other car entrance is from Parkside Drive: turn west onto High Park Blvd. Parking at High Park is free and you are almost guaranteed to find a spot.
